This Privacy Policy describes how JurisBrain ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the JurisBrain website at jurisbrainai.com (the "Site") and the JurisBrain desktop application and related services (the "App", and together with the Site, the "Service").

JurisBrain is built for attorneys, and we designed it around a simple principle: consultation content belongs to you and your client, and we handle it only as needed to do the job you hired the software to do.

1. Information we collect

Account information. When you request access or create an account: your name, email address, firm name, and password (stored only in securely hashed form).

Consultation content. When you run the App in a consultation, it captures audio and produces transcripts and AI-generated work product. Recordings are stored locally on your device. Content required to generate transcripts and outputs is transmitted over encrypted connections to our processing services and trusted subprocessors, processed to provide the Service, and not used for any other purpose. We never use your consultation content to train AI models, and we never sell it.

Billing information. Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and billing history; we do not receive or store your full card number.

Usage and diagnostics. We collect limited technical data about how the Service performs and is used — such as app version, device/OS type, feature usage events, and error reports — to keep the Service working and improve it.

Site data. Like most websites, the Site collects standard log and analytics data (IP address, browser type, pages viewed). Where the Site uses cookies, you can disable them in your browser.

Communications. If you email us or fill out a form, we keep that correspondence.

2. How we use information

We use the information above to: provide, operate, and maintain the Service; generate the transcripts, citations, and work product the App produces for you; process payments; respond to support requests; send service and account emails (and, with your consent, product updates you can opt out of at any time); monitor performance and fix problems; and comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

3. Who we share information with

We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contracts that restrict their use of it, including: cloud hosting and database services, AI processing providers (which do not use your content for model training), payment processing (Stripe), and email delivery. We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger or acquisition (in which case this policy would continue to apply to previously collected information).

4. Security

We treat consultation content as privileged, confidential material. Data is encrypted in transit; sensitive data is encrypted at rest; access is limited on a least-privilege basis; and account credentials are stored only in hashed form. No system is perfectly secure, but security is a first-class design requirement of this product, not an afterthought.

5. Data retention

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. Consultation recordings remain on your device under your control. Server-side data associated with your account is deleted or de-identified when no longer needed to provide the Service or meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. California residents have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA; EEA/UK residents have equivalent rights under the GDPR. To exercise any of them, email team@jurisbrainai.com — we will verify your request and respond within the time required by law. We will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Note for attorneys: information contained in your consultation content (for example, information about your clients) is processed by us on your behalf. Requests concerning that information should generally be directed to the attorney or firm that holds the relationship.

7. Children

The Service is a professional tool for attorneys and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here and update the "Last updated" date; if a change is material, we will notify account holders by email or in the App before it takes effect.
