Terms of Service

Last updated: July 14, 2026

Welcome to JurisBrain ("JurisBrain", "we", "us", or "our"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the JurisBrain website at jurisbrainai.com (the "Site"), the JurisBrain desktop application (the "App"), and the services we provide through them (together, the "Service").

By creating an account, accepting a trial invitation, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a law firm or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" includes it.

1. What JurisBrain is — and is not

JurisBrain is a software tool that assists licensed attorneys during and after client consultations by surfacing potentially relevant information, statutory references, and draft work product.

JurisBrain is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. No attorney–client relationship is created between you (or your clients) and JurisBrain. All output generated by the Service — including citations, summaries, flagged issues, and draft memos — is generated by artificial intelligence, may contain errors or omissions, and is provided solely as an aid to your own professional judgment. You are solely responsible for independently verifying any output before relying on it or using it in client work, and you retain full professional responsibility for all advice you give and work product you produce.

2. Eligibility

The Service is intended for licensed attorneys and their law firm staff. You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service.

3. Accounts and invitations

Access is currently by invitation. Your invitation code and account are personal to you: keep your credentials confidential, do not share your account, and notify us promptly at team@jurisbrainai.com if you suspect unauthorized use. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

4. Trial

Trial accounts receive a limited number of free consultation sessions, as described at the time of your invitation. No payment method is required for the trial. We may modify or end the trial program at any time; if we do, we will not remove access you have already been granted without reasonable notice.

5. Recording and client consent

The App can capture audio of consultations you run it in. You — not JurisBrain — are responsible for complying with all laws and professional-conduct rules that apply to recording and processing those conversations, including obtaining any consent required from participants (for example, California generally requires the consent of all parties to record a confidential communication) and satisfying your own confidentiality obligations to your clients. Do not use the App in a consultation unless you are permitted to do so.

6. Your content

You retain all rights to the content you bring to the Service — consultation recordings, transcripts, notes, client information, and documents ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, transmit, and process Your Content solely as needed to provide the Service to you, and for no other purpose. We treat Your Content as confidential; our handling of it is described in our Privacy Policy at jurisbrainai.com/legal-pages/privacy-policy. We do not use Your Content to train artificial-intelligence models.

7. Fees and billing

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis at the pricing shown when you subscribe, and renew automatically until cancelled. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details. You may cancel at any time, effective at the end of the current billing period; except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable. We will give you at least 30 days' notice before any price increase takes effect for you.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service in violation of law or of your professional obligations; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure; (c) reverse engineer, copy, resell, or sublicense the Service except as permitted by law; (d) use the Service to build a competing product; or (e) interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

9. Intellectual property

The Service — including the App, Site, software, design, and all content we provide — is owned by JurisBrain or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for your internal business purposes while you have an active account. Output generated by the Service from Your Content is yours to use in your practice.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third-party providers (such as payment processing, hosting, and AI processing). We are not responsible for third-party websites or services that we do not control, including sites we link to.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that output will be accurate or complete.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law: (a) JurisBrain will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption; and (b) our total liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the amounts you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim (or one hundred U.S. dollars if you have paid nothing). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and cancel your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service; where practical, we will give you notice and a reasonable opportunity to export Your Content. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 1, 6, and 9–15) survive.

14. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We are an early-stage product and the Service will evolve. We may update these Terms from time to time; if a change is material, we will notify you (for example, by email or in the App) before it takes effect. Continued use of the Service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law and disputes

If a problem comes up, please reach out to us first at team@jurisbrainai.com — we will work with you in good faith to resolve it. These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which JurisBrain is headquartered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the courts located there.
